Clear, confident coverage

Medicare Health Plan Options, most commonly referring to Medicare Advantage Plans (Part C), are an alternative way to receive your Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance) and Part B (Medical Insurance) benefits. These plans are offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. Instead of getting your benefits directly from Original Medicare, you choose a Medicare Advantage Plan that covers all your Part A and Part B services. Most Medicare Advantage Plans also include prescription drug coverage (Part D) and often offer additional benefits that Original Medicare doesn't cover, such as:

  • Routine dental, vision, and hearing care

  • Fitness programs (like SilverSneakers)

  • Transportation to medical appointments

  • Over-the-counter allowances

Common types of Medicare Advantage Plans include HMOs (Health Maintenance Organizations) and PPOs (Preferred Provider Organizations). While they can offer more comprehensive benefits and often have lower monthly premiums than Original Medicare plus a Medigap plan, they may have network restrictions or require referrals. Understanding the differences is key to choosing the right plan.

Medicare Health Plan Options

Medicare is the federal health insurance program in the United States, primarily for people age 65 or older. It also covers younger individuals with certain disabilities or specific health conditions. Designed to help with the costs of healthcare, Medicare provides fundamental coverage for hospital stays, doctor visits, and other medical services.

Medicare RX

Medicare Part D, also known as Medicare Rx, is an optional prescription drug coverage program available to all Medicare beneficiaries. It is offered by private insurance companies approved by Medicare. Medicare Part D helps cover the cost of prescription medications, including both brand-name and generic drugs. Beneficiaries typically pay a monthly premium, a deductible, and co-payments or coinsurance for their prescriptions. Each Part D plan has a formulary, which is a list of covered drugs, and costs can vary significantly between plans. It's crucial for individuals to choose a plan that covers their specific medications and fits their budget to avoid high out-of-pocket expenses and potential late enrollment penalties if they don't have creditable drug coverage.
